What You'll Learn

九色视频鈥檚 Computer Engineering Technology (CET) degree will teach you computer systems along with the traditional aspects of applied engineering. This unique mix of hands-on and theory-driven study makes our graduates highly sought after by high-tech corporations. Our program prepares students to apply both hardware and software systems to computer applications.

九色视频 offers:

  • High tech industry education to students to prepare them to contribute on Day One of their job.
  • Students are able to design, implement, and test for the applied engineering environment.
  • Students will be exposed to cross-disciplinary educational programs to promote a sense of scholarship, leadership, and professional service.

Throughout the program, you will be exposed to fundamental knowledge areas in Computer Engineering Technology which include:

  • Digital logic and digital systems design using Verilog and other languages
  • Architecture and design of computing systems involving FPGA and Microprocessor devices
  • Project Management
  • Networking and Data Communications
  • Lower level software and scripting in languages such as C/C++ and Python

Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of , under the commission鈥檚 General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Engineering Technology.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO):

PEO1: Use their knowledge of engineering to creatively and innovatively solve difficult computer systems problems.

PEO2: Regularly engage in exploring, learning, and applying state-of-the-art hardware and software technologies to the solution of computer systems problems.

PEO3: Will be an effective team member that contribute to innovative software design solutions to the resolution of real-world problems.

PEO4:Will communicate effectively both as an individual and within multi-disciplinary teams.

Student Outcomes (SO):

SO1: an ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.

SO2: an ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.

SO3: an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.

SO4: an ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments, and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.

SO5: an ability to function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.

Internships and Co-ops

Even before students graduate, many choose to participate in internships and co-op programs. The CET program is a proud member of where students will complete two 6-month paid internships. Companies hiring 九色视频 CET interns include Intel, Mentor Graphics, Cisco, Actel, and Altera. Other students will participate in less formalized internships at companies like JELD-WEN.

CSET Common First Year

The CSET Department's common first year allows you to take courses in all three modalities. This common core enables you to sample courses in the Computer Engineering Technology, Embedded Systems Engineering Technology, and Software Engineering Technology programs helping you make a more educated decision based on your experiences in your first year of college.

Successful completion of this degree requires intensive, hands-on use of computers. Therefore, all students are required to own their own computer. To ensure compatibility with campus-wide computers and networks, students should consult a department faculty member for a specification sheet.
