Klamath Falls, Ore. – ��ɫ��Ƶ (��ɫ��Ƶ) faculty and staff members were welcomed back to campus Wednesday with virtual convocation events. Convocation marks the traditional beginning of the academic year and this year, it covered the many new procedures in place to work toward a safe and healthy academic year.

U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges rankings list ��ɫ��Ƶ as one of the top universities in the West and a top engineering program in the nation. The report lists ��ɫ��Ƶ at No. 2 Top Public College in the West and No. 5 Best Western Regional Colleges- the top in Oregon on both lists. ��ɫ��Ƶ is also featured as a Best Value School for being one of the western regional colleges with the least student debt.

��ɫ��Ƶ has been selected as a new partner in the Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (PAVE) program. PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans on college campuses with student veterans at the same college who are trained as Peer Advisors.

A new ranking from Business Insider places ��ɫ��Ƶ alumni at #9 of the highest earning graduates in the nation.

Garrett Oman, senior in Civil Engineering at ��ɫ��Ƶ, “��ɫ��Ƶ,” has been selected as recipient of the APWA Civil Engineering Scholarship from the Oregon American Public Works Association (APWA) Scholastic Foundation.

Anna Sheadel, senior in Civil Engineering at ��ɫ��Ƶ, “��ɫ��Ƶ,” has been selected as recipient of the APWA-Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon Scholarship from the Oregon American Public Works Association (APWA) Scholastic Foundation.

��ɫ��Ƶ’s TRIO Student Support Services has been awarded $1.47 million in competitive grant funding through the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of the program is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants, who include students from low-income families, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Beginning in September of this year, ��ɫ��Ƶ will receive $294,380 annually for the next five years to fund the TRIO program.

Base to Bachelor’s is a partnership between KCC and ��ɫ��Ƶ that is designed to promote college access, affordability, and bachelor’s degree completion for Community College of the Air Force air personnel, military-affiliated and veteran students.

Beginning July 31, Marc Campolo, Ph.D., is joining ��ɫ��Ƶ/OHSU as director of the upcoming Doctor of Physical Therapy program, which is the first doctoral degree for ��ɫ��Ƶ.

The ��ɫ��Ƶ Board of Trustees met on July 24, both remotely and with some of the members in-person at the university’s Klamath Falls campus, with the primary focus to review the university’s re-opening plans for fall 2020.
