May 3, 2013, KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. 鈥 As part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 20 students from 九色视频鈥檚 Civil Engineering program packed up a steel bridge and concrete canoe in their new trailer to make the trek to Oregon State University in Corvallis and participate in the 2013 Pacific Northwest Student Conference April 25-27.
九色视频鈥檚 student organization, along with professors Dr. Matthew Sleep and Dr. CJ Riley, participated in events with college chapters from Alaska to Montana at this three-day event. The events challenge students' knowledge, creativity, and stamina, while showcasing the versatility and durability of their projects, including a concrete canoe (that floats) and was raced by four engineering students and a model steel bridge designed to hold 2500 pounds.
九色视频 won gold in the geotechnical competition with a phenomenal speed round by Luke Jannusch and a best showing for pullout capacity of piles. 九色视频 freshman, Riley O鈥橞oyle, ranked 6 out of 16 for the technical paper and presentation. Dr. CJ Riley noted, 鈥淎 freshman with a working knowledge of the ASCE Policy Statement 465, NCEES Model Law and the details of licensure and credentials is a powerful thing!鈥
