The Seventh Annual Region X Student Transportation Conference was held Friday, Nov. 13, at the University of Oregon.

Sixteen ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences students who enrolled in a 400-level course visited Arcata Marsh and Humboldt State University's associated research facilities.

Nine students from ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology program participated in the Formula SAE® West Competition held at the California International Raceway in Fontana, California.

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ was recently featured in two segments of the national television show The Green Economy.

Students in the Introduction to Engineering class at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ will work in teams to plan, design, and construct passive solar chicken coops as part of a class project for the Winter 2012 term.

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and Klamath Community College have formed a new partnership, one that will allow current ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ students who began their educational careers at KCC to be awarded degrees from the community college for work completed at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Civil Engineering Department was recently awarded the 2012 Walter LeFevre Award (Small Program Winner) from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

More than 1,200 new laser/optics technicians and engineers are needed per year in the US and only 230 students graduate with that specialty.
